Wild Food People

Expert-led foraging and wild food courses and experiences in North Wales and across the UK.

The team behind Wild Food People have been running foraging and wild food training courses in North Wales for over 15 years.

We run public, private and bespoke courses throughout the year, as well as training outdoor professionals and working with brands that use wild ingredients in their products.

Our Wild Food Courses

We run a calendar of public foraging, wild food and ethnobotany courses throughout the year.

These are mostly held in North Wales, with additional courses held at select venues across the UK.

We are unique in the world of wild food.

Not only do we operate to a strict code of ethics in everything we do – our team of foragers and instructors are actively involved in the conservation and the ecological management of the environments we source our wild food from.

Unlike other foraging and wild food course providers – we don’t just visit these environments, we work to make them healthier and improve biodiversity wherever we can.

Client Reviews

I had a fantastic morning on the woodland foraging course in April. Learnt so much and cannot wait to start foraging myself and using food I can find for free!
What a fantastic four hours. It was unbelievable how much wild food could be found in a relatively small area. I learned so much more than I expected and went home with a veritable feast in my rucksack.
I recently went on the woodland foraging course run by Richard and Amy. They are clearly subject matter experts and were happy to answer any questions put to them. It was a lovely experience and would not hesitate to recommend the course to anyone that has a love of the outdoors and a desire to enjoy their surroundings.
I attended the Foraging and Wild Foods course in April 2023. I hadn't know what to expect and found the whole afternoon wonderful. It was a lovely and accessable walk, I learnt so much, Richard is an engaging teacher and he and Amy are so passionate about the woodland.
The foraging course just outside Ruthin was brilliant. Richard and Amy are really friendly, extremely knowledgeable and the 4 hours passes by in a flash. The landscape is beautiful and who wouldn't like eating wild garlic and beech leaves in a field!!
What an amazing day spent with Richard and Amy on the woodland foraging course, both so knowlegable and eager to pass on. Learned so much and cannot wait to incorporate this into our diet. So good we've already booked on the Seashore foraging course in October!
They have an ability to keep novice and experienced foragers engaged within the same group which was great for us who are on the novice side. We will definitely be booking a couple of other courses and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of giving it a go.
Fantastic introductory coastal foraging course. Very engaging, informative and everyone gets hands on experience, finished off with a beach cook-up of our finds. Would highly recommend, I’ve booked a woodland foraging course with them following this.
Had a fantastic day 16/08/21 with Richard and Amy on a private coastal foraging course, the whole experience from booking to confirming final details and the actual course delivery was faultless, you could tell that both Richard and Amy truly love being in the outdoors and the way they passed on their knowledge was spot on, I certainly felt that this course gave me the ground work to be able to carry on and learn lots more of what the coast can offer, thank you both for a fantastic day.

Wild Food People

Authentic. Ethical. Sustainable.

Wild Food People was founded to share our deep-rooted passion for ethical, sustainable, and authentic wild food with as many people as we can reach.

We do this through hands-on foraging and wild food courses, engaging articles, and weekly podcast episodes—all led by experienced outdoor professionals with a lifetime of knowledge to share.

This isn’t a hobby for us; it’s a full-time commitment. We believe everyone should have the chance to access wild food in a responsible and sustainable way. Our mission is to teach and inspire others to engage with nature while protecting its delicate balance.

Based in North Wales, between the rolling hills of the Clwydian Range AONB and the rugged landscape of Parc Eryri (Snowdonia), we’re ideally placed to work across the UK. Our approach blends ecology, ethical land management, and a genuine love of wild food.

We collaborate with landowners to ensure that our courses and events not only respect but also enhance the environments where they take place.

Ethical foraging, hunting, and fishing are inseparable from conservation and sustainable land management, and we’re committed to maintaining healthy ecosystems as part of everything we do.
